Recount Writing- At the hot pools.

WALT use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.

At the hot pools.

On a cold Sunday me and my Mum and my brother went to the hot pools.

First I told my Mum before we went to the hot pools

but I put something in my pocket before we came

to the hot pools in Whangarei.

I thought my brother had stolen it so what

I did was to wait until he was sitting down on a

chair then I made my move.

Then I stole it back from him.

After that I ran in the pool.

Then he realized that I had stolen it.

He was angry but he couldn’t do anything about

it because it belonged to me.

After that we ate. I loved the food. It was delicious.

Next we went into the pool with my Mum.

It nice and warm. I felt like I wanted to stay in the pool forever.

Later on we packed up our stuff and went home. 

Finally my Mum told us to go to bed for school

on Monday so we got all our stuff ready for Monday.

Then went to bed.

My first time as Kaikarakia for Assembly

For our school assembly this morning I was on the taumata

as a kaikarakia.

I was scared that I wouldn't give the instructions properly.

I used the kaha hoe and the tumaia hoe 

to help me say it correctly.

My Spelling chart

I got 56 words out of 64 correct this term. That's 88% correct.

My Basic Facts Chart

This term I scored 70 out of 200 in my basic facts test. I went up by 57 points.

Persuasive Writing-Homework

Homework Homework makes your mind to grow and to be smart and when you’re older you will be smart when you go to college and get good grades. First it makes your mind get smarter and smarter. Secondly it makes you achieve your goals. Lastly it will make your learning go up. Finally you will not be in the ditch because your brain is already smart and brainy. So if you get homework you have to do it so you get smart and clever. So make sure you do homework everyday so you are very smart and always learning your facts and your maths and halves. And if you do not want to learn then you won’t be smart so that is why you should do homework. by Rachel Waiariki.

Persuasive Writing-Brushing Teeth

Persuasive Writing.

Brushing our teeth.

Brushing teeth is important to always

keep them nice and fresh.

So I think we should brush our teeth every day.

Firstly I think we should brush our teeth every day

so they won’t fall out.
Always brush your teeth twice a day.
When you eat something, bacteria will be inside
and will eat the food you have eaten inside
the little gaps in your teeth and this
damages your teeth and could make them fall out.
So you need to brush this bacteria away.

Secondly I think we should brush our teeth
every day so that we can protect our teeth.
When you brush your teeth it brushes
away the bacteria and the leftover food
and your teeth are clean and safe.

Thirdly I think we should brush our teeth
every day so that they can be strong and healthy.
When you eat food, some food gets stuck
inside your mouth.
We should brush our teeth everyday
so we don’t get all the yucky food
inside our mouth and the bacteria.  

So that’s why I think we should brush our teeth every day.

Recount Writing-Mother's day

Mother’s Day

I spent two days making my present
for my Mum and designing a Mother’s Day card.
I couldn’t wait for Sunday - that was Mother’s Day.
I hoped my Mum would like my gift.

When Sunday arrived I was so excited.

I gave my present to my Mum. She loved it.
It was a Mother’s Day necklace with
a special message on one side and
a photo of me on the other side.

When she read my special message
she told me that she will wear it everyday for me
and then she gave me a hug.

After that Mum said to me, “Let's go somewhere.”

So we went to visit my papa. He passed away.

Next we went to the park.
It was fun there because I saw my old friends.
They still go to the same school I use to go to.

Then my Mum said we could go and get a frozen coke.

I had a Raspberry. It was yum. Then we went home.

I had some nice dinner my Mum made for me.

It was a lovely day with my Mum.

This is my mystery science of butterflies.

Recount Writing-At the Park

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for recount writing.

On Saturday I went to the park in Kaikohe with my brother and my cousin.

First I got out of bed and got changed.

Next we got ready for the park. After we went to the park.

Then I went on to the park. I went down on the slide then

I was getting bored so I went over to my Mum.

When I got there I told my Mum that I was bored

so she said to go play with my brother. So I went to my brother

but he was playing with some other kids that I did not know but I think he knew them.

While he was playing with them I went to play with my cousin.

He was having fun by himself  so I went over to play with him.

But he did not want to play with other people so I left him to play by himself.

I did not have anything to do. I was feeling sad and lonely.

My Mum came over and said that she was going to

get some drinks because she was thirsty. She drove off in the car.

Then I saw the swings. They had no one on them

so I played on the swing. That made me feel a little bit better.

I played on the swings until my Mum came to the park.

Recount Writing-On Sunday

I am learning to add thoughts and feelings comments in my writing.

On a cold Sunday me and my brother were

at home with my Mum.

We had a quiet day without my baby cousin around.

First my mum got out of bed and cooked lunch.

Next we ate lunch. It was yum.Then my Mum and
I cleaned up the house.Then the house was clean.

After my Mum said that we could go to the park
so we went to the park. It was so much fun.
I felt happy to go to the park.
Then my Mum went to get fish and chips.

When she came back my family came
over to eat fish and chips. It was yum but my
Mum forgot to get some drinks so she went
to go get the drinks but my aunty had drinks
so we had heaps. After that we had to go home.
I was tired so I went to bed so did my brother.

It was cool going to the park with my family.

Recount Writing-On Saturday

I am learning to add my thoughts and feelings to my writing.

On Saturday me and my mum and brother
went to the beach in Opononi. I felt happy to go there.

When I got there the water looked cold then I went in.

I jumped around in the water.
Then my baby cousin tripped in the water
and his face was in the water. I felt frightened.
I ran and grabbed my cousin and lucky he did not drown.
I pulled him out of the water. He was crying.
I picked him up and passed him to my Mum.

After my mum went to get fish and chips for lunch.
I had the most chips and fish. The fish and chips were yum.

Then we went home. It was a long drive home
